Intercultural Variety Concert on Saturday combines musical excellence from many cultures
Ballarat people have the chance to take their families to hear and see a wonderful and lively concert at the Wendouree Centre for Performing Arts on Saturday 16 March 2019. This family friendly event will give a taste of a wonderful and colourful range of musical performances.
Guests will be treated to acclaimed local and visiting musicians, including Daylesford Soul Choir conducted by Geoffrey Williams; The Little Brass Band; Lion Dance; Pipe Band; Jazz piano; Enduring Classics; Liza Minnelli; Bollywood Fusion Dancers; Thai Dancers.
The concert is BRMC’s first musical event following Mayor Samantha McIntosh’s Town Hall launch of a fundraising campaign for purchase of a piano for the Ballarat Welcome Centre. Any proceeds from the concert will contribute to raising funds for a grand piano for the Centre. This will enable a much needed small venue for intercultural and chamber music events in the future.
BRMC Chair, Chez Dichiera said
“We are delighted to be working with Wendouree Centre for Performing Arts, City of Ballarat and other partners to create a cultural event venue and to celebrate Ballarat s rich cultural talent in the process. BRMC and Ballarat’s multicultural communities are also delighted that Catherine King will attend and support the Concert and the fundraising efforts of Ballarat’s multicultural communities.”
