Rural and Regional Migration Forum

The Rural and Regional Migration Forum will explore how migration can support local employers to fill labour gaps and grow their businesses whilst contributing to the long-term sustainability of rural and regional communities.
Please join us for a Welcome Reception at the Horsham Town Hall on Tuesday the 12th of March at 5.30pm. Complimentary light food and drinks will be provided.
The Forum will run from 9.00am to 3.30pm on Wednesday 13th of March with registration from 8.30am.
What to Expect
As an attendee, you can expect to:
- Identify the barriers to employers using migrant and refugee talent to fill labour market shortages;
- Gain a deeper understanding of the local labour market issues and pressures;
- Hear from employees from migrant and refugee backgrounds about what has worked to assist them to settle into the community;
- Hear from local employers that have successfully employed people from migrant and refugee backgrounds;
- Gain awareness of the tools and resources that are available to employers;
- Gain an understanding of locally-led migration and resettlement approaches;
- Identify actions that will improve co-ordination across existing initiatives and projects.
