World Interfaith Harmony Week 2021 Celebrations

FreeWorld Interfaith Harmony Week is an annual event observed during the first week of February. This week is an opportunity for dialogue among different faiths and religions to enhance mutual understanding, harmony and cooperation among people.
The Ballarat Interfaith Network celebrates World Interfaith Harmony Week 2021:
Civic Flag Raising Event
Monday 1st February, 11am
Venue: St Peter’s Anglican Church, 1307 Sturt St, Ballarat
Featuring address by Juliana Addison MP, with keynote speaker Bishop Gary Weatherill. Take a tour of St Peter’s church followed by refreshments.

Morning Ritual at The Buddhist Temple
Tuesday 2nd February, 10am – 12pm
Venue: 19 Griffeys Lane, Mount Helen
Visit the temple to participate in the morning ritual. Includes overview of future temple plans, introduction to Buddhist history, chanting of morning suttas led by the monks, and a meditation session. Offerings of food can be given to the monks and temple entry requires removal of shoes.

Family History Day – Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
Thursday 4th February, 1pm
Venue: 1 Grammar St, Wendouree
This will include an explanation of how to use Family Search, and why LDS Christians link research to their temples.
Sikh Event – Path Shri Sukhmani Sahib
Sunday 7th February, 3pm – 5.30pm
Venue: Brown Hill Hall, 375 Humffray St N, Brown Hill
Includes tea, PATH (prayer of peace and joy of mind), KIRTAN (devotional singing), introduction to Sikhism, Guru Ka Langar (communal dinner).
